It’s always a treat for me when I’m in town to attend our gathering of mental health and education professionals, the “movers and the shakers” of the Bay area therapeutic and recovery community. The old timers introducing the newcomers, and really getting a sense of each other’s practice and updating our lives. Collaborative support for us in the mental health and education community is really essential in “taking care of each other.” I count on this group to be welcoming and affirming of each other while looking at each as resources for our clients. It takes a village, and in this Los Gatos is a great hub of support for our professional group. When you consider working with a clinician, ask yourself how they are connected with others within the professional community of licensed practitioners, and others who work as paraprofessionals. Then you can make the right decision for yourself and your family.
